Field trip to the HOGG MINE - MARCH 15, 2008 Troup County, Lagrange, Georgia
|
Saturday, March 15, 2008 turned out to be a perfect day for a trip to the Hogg Mine. The weather
forecast called for severe storms and winds of 22 mph. While the forecast no doubt deterred some
from attending, those who did venture out enjoyed a day of mild weather with a good deal of sunshine.
Nine adults, five young boys (incredibly nice and well behaved) and Marcy and myself was the final
tally.
Robert Krampf, "The Happy Scientist" came to use the mine as a backdrop for an educational video on the
subject of minerals. Mr Krampf does science videos, live science programs, teacher workshops and features an
"Experiment of the Week". His website, www.krampf.com, is well worth several visits.
